Meredith’s essay entitled Bulletproof Backpacks: The Necessity of Mourning in America was selected winner in the International Psychoanalytic Association’s 2023 world wide short essay contest. This anthology asked analytic voices to weigh in on the burning social issues of our time and consider the unconscious defenses at work that amplify destruction while holding the potential to galvanize change. She was honored to be featured alongside analysts from 34 different countries.
